Unable to log onto character in Esteldin

I recently decided to start playing LOTRO again and have been leveling several alts. I have been disconnecting in the North Downs and Angmar on these alts constantly, but am generally able to log into them after about 15 minutes (I have gone over the connection issues thread and tried everything, and it works fine). Today I was entering Esteldin on a character and it disconnected. It's been about an hour and I still can't log onto that character. I can log onto my character in Rohan fine.

PC crashing when trying to load zone

I upgraded to a better computer recently - now have Windows 7 64bit, 4 RAM instead of 2, better CPU, etc. When I first tried to get on Lotro after installing/updating I was stuck at the loading screen indefinitely after character selection. Switching from DirectX 10 to DirectX 9 fixed that, and I was able to log on for about 5 minutes. It was very laggy though, so I logged off. Since then I have not been able to get on at all. During the loading screen after character selection, about the time you would expect the zone to finish loading and play to start - the computer stops and reboots, wanting to start in safe mode since it turned off improperly.

I have tried turning off my firewall, and changing all the graphics options to "Low" at the character selection screen (despite that I had already used Detect Optimal Settings), and this crash still happens whenever I try to load. I don't know what else to try. I can't imagine it has anything to do with my ports since I was able to get on for that 5 minutes before on this computer, and it can't be my ISP, as I could always play fine with the old PC, under same ISP.

Can anyone think what the problem might be?

4K gaming on LOTR SLI.

Hey There,

Just a quick question, has anyone tried running LOTR on a 4K monitor ? I'm also wondering if the Dev team have any tests with it ?

For SLI, last time I checked, SLI is supported, but does not give any benefits in terms of FPS. I don't believe an MMO has been written yet to that takes advantage of SLI or CrossFire.

Lotro crashes with my new wireless headset

I got a Afterglow universal wireless headset for Christmas and have been trying to use that. It works fine with Teamspeak, iTunes music, and other audio sounds on my computer. I plugged it in and then tried to start up Lotro. An error message came up: "lotroclient has encountered a problem and needs to close." It does this every time. If I start up Lotro and THEN plug it in, Lotro doesn't detect the headset. My computer recognizes the headset as the default voice device, but Lotro just crashes when it's plugged in and I try to start up the client. Is it possible the headset is incompatible with the game? Or is there a setting I can change?

Hello!

I've finally had some time to play LOTRO, yet when I load up the game and started patching, I received the following error:

Runtime Error!

Program C:\Programdata\Turbine\Lordoft heringsonline\Turbinelauncher. exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
Please contact the application's support team for more information

Any ideas? A search led me to an old thread which recommended running the program as an administrator, which had no effect. I'd like to be able to play before the holiday season ends & all that real life mumbo-jumbo starts demanding my free time again. Also, Christmas event!

Edit: Whoops, should probably let you know I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with all the latest updates.

Can't log-in?

Hello,

This is my first (and maybe last) forum post.

I have a problem logging in. I can open the launcher, fill in the log-in data (which is correct), but when the game launches and goes into full-screen, yellow(-ish) text pops up and lists stuff it is doing. Nothing out of the ordinary, I think.
The problem is, it keeps saying "Attempting to search for loggon server (Attempt X of 20)" and goes to 20 of 20 every time and I get a black screen that says I couldn't connect and must quit the launcher or whatever.
I have tried on different servers, but got the same result on everyone.

What can I do? I have tried to re-install and tried on different servers.

X-Fi Sound issues with Multiboxing

Hello,
i have a little problem. If i use my X-Fi PCIe @ multiboxing with more than one instance from lotro. The Sound stocks after a few minutes and scrample.
If i use only one instance sound and mute the other, i have no problem with sound.
With my onboard sound, i dont have problems with sound @ multiboxing.
What can i do? But i still like use the X-FI. My system is w7 64bit 16 gb Ram, ati 6970

Losing Connection to Lotro all the time

Hello,

Since a year or so I've been constantly losing connection to Lotro. Sometimes after 15 min. Other times after 30 or an hour. I took a break back then, because I couldn't fix the problem, but I really want to be able to play the game again. I've been playing since launch (Luckily I have a lifetime account, or I would've kept subscribing for nothing) and never had a problem until switching providers. We went from a Modem + Router to something called an Experia box which has it all in one (no router required).

What happens is after some time (different each time) I can't move my character any more and the connection icon turns red. I'm still able to chat (Perhaps because the game and chat system are on a different port so I've heard), but then the game says it lost connection to the server and crashes. My internet is completely fine and I have no problems playing other games and MMO's such as Guild Wars 2, Tera, Swtor, FFXIV etc. When I start up Lotro again after the crash it launches perfectly fine and I can play until I lose connection again.
I've port forwarded to 9000-9010 UDP, 2900-2910 UDP, 80 TCP and only enabled these ports. I have added lotroclient, turbinelauncher and all the other applications to Microsoft security essentials and firewall's exceptions. I tried putting a router in between my wireless connection from my desktop to the box, but it didn't help.

What bothers me is the "request timed out" at step 5. PingPlotter displays the same (100% packet loss)

Here evidently it already has problems on Step 1 and 2.

I'm afraid the problem is ISP related, because I started having problems immediately after we've switched providers and I've never had these issues before. I've read in the troubleshooting sticky that VOIP adapters occasionally have problems with sustaining connection to Lotro. I could contact my ISP, but I have no idea what to say or if they can do anything about it at all. Switching ISP's unfortunately is not an option, because I live with my parents and they obviously think it's not worth it. If there's anything I can do or if you have any idea's at all, please let me know. I'm getting pretty desperate and I miss playing this game (without disconnecting all the time).

Mouse Login Problems

Hello,

As i tried to start the game today i faced some problems.

When i strart the game the correct cursor appears, but suddenly the screen goes black and back again a few times.

After this the Curser isnt working correctly and i cant click on any icon in the menu.

Could someone please help me!

difficulty playing

This afternoon, I downloaded started playing LOTRO. But when I got back on an hour ago, it started saying that the patch could not file corestrings.dll and that access was denied. But the corestrings.dll is for DDO. Why is it showing up for LOTRO? HELP!!!!!!!

Error downloading the game - WIN8.1

I'm attempting to download the game on a new computer. I get to about 12GB of the 14.6 and it comes up with this:

"Uh oh, it looks like some data's been corrupted. The package may be invalid, or your disk may have some bad sectors.
Please visit support.reloadedtech.com for further assistance."

I've checked my disk, no bad sectors. The website doesn't offer much help either. Any ideas?

Lost connection, after restart launcher stuck at " Installing pre-reqs "

I lost connection to game servers last night around 4am CST. They game client would not kick me back out to the launcher client or take me to the screen that says server connection failed. I waited for what must have been at least 15 minutes before using the Task Manager to exit out of the turbinelauncher.exe. After doing so and restarting the launcher, I am able to get past " Initializing ", but the launcher goes straight to " Installing pre-reqs " and will not do anything else. I can click on all the buttons, but they do nothing except if I click on the X, it does close the launcher.

Currently all ports for the LOTRO client and launcher in my firewall have exceptions set for the port ranges specified on the Turbine Support website. I can succesfully tracert GLS.turbine.com just fine. All of the hops are with in respectable latency ranges.

I've attempted to uninstall and re-install with no change to the launcher sticking at " Installing Pre-Reqs ". Can anyone shed some light on how to fix this issue? I've submitted a ticket to Turbine technical support, but have not heard back from them yet. I was hoping their might be a quicker fix from a forum lord or the player community.

I'm located out of Kansas. Could this be an issue with routing as I've read from other posts? Prior to last night I have had ZERO troubles with the launcher or connection issues like this sort. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

i got the game earlier, setup an account and go to play on it, have to run a few updates or whatever. then it gets to 'connecting to patch server - 33%' after this it fails, this is an endless cycle even when i close down game and restart PC. it just says 'server connection timed out'
