Client Crashing

Hi, I have had client crashing problems for a while now at fairly regular intervals. I have done extensive research and tried all troubleshooting suggestions but to no avail.

I finally downloaded App Verifier from Microsoft and started running it. The problem is, though I am computer literate I do not fully understand all feedback that it produces. I was wondering who or where I could send this information so that this problem could finally be narrowed down.

Any help is appreciated as this problem is very very annoying. Thank you in advance!

Can't input any text into IM space

Somebody sent me an IM several days ago and I just now noticed it. :( I've been trying to answer, but once I bring up the window, all I see is two rows of font, emoticons, et cetera icons. I can make those disappear by clicking a small box at the right of the window, but I can't enter any text into the box.

I'm running a spanking-new machine with Windows 7.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Crashes on end...

For the last thirty minutes or so I have spent more time restarting the game than actually being inside it.
My character is in Bree, first she was near the South Gate, where the game crashed twice, then she went to the fireworks, where the game crashed again twice, each time after only two or three minutes.

Is it my system that is suddenly causing this problem or are other people having this problem too?

[EDIT]Next crash while I'm writing this.[/EDIT]
[EDIT]Left the fireworks, tried to enter the Prancing Pony - crash![/EDIT]
[EDIT]Caught one letter - crash![/EDIT]
[EDIT]The rest of the letters went fine. Approached the fireworks (not even there yet) - crash!
I had been looking forward to the festival very much, but I think I'll give up for now... :([/EDIT]

LOTRO Install with Windows 8

Here's the prob:

New computer (Vaio), Windows 8, plenty of free space.
I hit errors (or maybe my own stupidity) no matter which one I pick, standard or high on the download page. (http://www.lotro.com/en/game/download)

After clicking on PC Download, it brings up the installer, dl's for hours, then brings up a file (on my desktop) called TheLordoftheRingsOnlineEN. When I click on it it brings up files called: LOTROSetup-1.bin.downloading all numbered (1-21), 666,000kb each (except for 2 of the files), and on the right it says "Type: DOWNLOADING File". I click on one, a window pops up that says "how do you want to open this type of file (.downloading)?" "Look for an app in the Store."

WHAT do I do? I tried deleting and reinstalling, but it says I already have the files. Help!

Do they each need to be opened with BitTorrent or uTorrent (neither of which is installed on my new pc)?

Housing/Structure issue

Hi. I am having an issue when zoning into elf-land neighborhoods. I am considering purchasing a home there, but when I enter, all I can see is terrain, doors, npcs and decorations. No buildings attached to those doors, and no bridges. I have tried relogging, re-zoning, going to a totally different location and returning. All I see is doors standing on the ground. This does NOT happen in any of the other neighborhoods (Man/Dwarf/Hobbit) Everything in those neighborhoods is completely normal. Can anyone help me out? Why would elf-houses and bridges be invisible? I can enter the houses and everything looks fine, but from outside there is just a big yard with a free standing door and decorations. What gives?

Not getting 100 percent GPU usage, is this normal?

Alright, my GPU usage with settings turned all the way up and Direct X 11 enabled only ever gets as high as 60 to 70 percent, generally lingering in the 40s or so otherwise. I know this like any other MMO is a CPU intensive game, but this just seems off to me.

My specs are:
AMD FX 8350 at 4.5 GHZ
GTX 670 2GB EVGA FTW Edition
8 gigs of DDR 3 at 1866
GA 970-UD3 MOBO

I'm running windows 8 and am on Nvidia's 314.22 driver.

I have gone into the driver's control panel and set it to prefer maximum performance on power usage.

I'm just curious at this point if this is normal.

Can u help me? Yesterday I played with Lotro, but today I simply cant log in the game cos when I click on the lotro icon it loads a bit and nothing happens. I downloaded 16gb of the game already and I really dont want to start it again especially cos slow 2mb/s net. Tried the ikon in the lotro game map but same thing happened but strange that the uninstall ikon works. The task manager showed me that turbine.exe starts when i click on lotro ikon but after a few sec it quit.

IMPOSSIBLE to Install

When I tried to dl on the official site, it brings up a LOTRO.exe, and dl's. After "finishing" it gave me 21 different files, all labeled 1-21, lotrosetup-1.bin.downloading. I tried deleting all the bin files, thought I had, went to redownload and it says I already have the files. When I go into the folders, they're empty, and when I do a search to bring them up, they show up, but when clicked on, they are errored/missing.

SO, since I CAN'T do the official dl, I'm doing a torrent instead. If anyone has any input or a better way to do it, speak up. BTW- is the EU and US DL the same, or different? If the torrent is EU I wanna know if I can change it to US so I can get back to my server (which is US Arken.)

Hi all! I'm wanting to get back into the game, but when I try to run the Launcher, it gets to about 70%~ updated, and then crashes. I've restarted the computer, run the client in Admin mode...don't know what it could be. I know I've played it sometime this year, but I don't remember when, so I'm unsure as to where it updated to.

I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit, with 6 GB ram. I can supply System Info if needed.

I'm having a problem with fog and sky textures. Everything is either fogged over or discolored. I've relogged 3 times with no change. I've tested it in numerous zones. I didn't have this problem yesterday. Here's one example...

Good day ll,

I just downloaded LotR today via steam and everytime I push play, a giant launcher error message box pops up stating:

System.IO.FileNotFoundExceptio n: File or assembly name 98qq-led.dll, or one of its dependencies, was not found.

I'm running windows 7. I have tried uninstalling from steam, reinstalling from the website, uninstalling and reinstalling back from steam and verifying game files on steam. The game is also on my secondary library on the D drive.

Keyboard problems, please help me :)

$

I'm thankful for any advice! :)

My problem is this: When playing LOTRO with my laptop, my keyboard quite often gets "messed up" so that suddenly shortcuts don't work properly - for example S, which should make my character run backwards, opens up the LOTRO online store and A, which should move it to the left, doesnt do anything. It seems like my keyboard would "think" that my CTRL is pressed down (even if its definetely not pressed down) cause CTRL+S opens up the store and CTRL+A does nothing (as A is not binded to anything). The keyboard works fine again if I go for a moment away from the game screen and then come back to the game.

Is there something wrong with my laptop or is some game feature/ some other program etc causing this problem?

My whole keyboard was just renewed in guarantee but that didnt help (so is the motherboard and prosessor renewed, and this laptop is only one year old). I dont have that Comcast Security Suite installed that was told to cause some keyboard problems in some other threads. I never had this problem with my desktop. My laptop meets the requirements for LOTRO very well and runs it well with high graphics - runs it well other than this problem! My operating system is Windows 7.

As said, I'm very thankful for help!

(And if you have some clue what I should try and do in order to fix the problem, please give as detailed instructions as possible!:))

Yes ... I know it's a punny title, but I REALLY, REALLY need help!

I've been wanting to return to the game, but it's refusing to co-operate.

I start up the launcher and everything works fine, however when it gets to starting the client, the screen goes black and nothing happens. "Lotroclient is not responding".

I've uninstalled. Downloaded from scratch. Reinstalled. Nothing.
I've tried running as administrator. Nothing.
I've tried running in compatibility mode as Windows 7. Nothing. (I'm running Windows 8)
I've several disabled background programs that I thought may be interfering. Nothing.
I've tried resetting the graphics setting in the launcher and deleting my userprefereences.ini. Nothing.

The only thing suspicious at all is when I look at my \AppData\Local\The Lord of the Rings Online\lotroclient.log, it gets the following errors (though it does seem to get past them):
Quote:

DiskCon::InitFile:

That's where it ends. At 'Initializing the user interface'

I've deleted 'client_map_2.dat' and 'client_local_English.dat' so the launcher could download them again ... to no avail. It just gets the same error again.

Frankly, I've running out of ideas.

It was working a couple of months ago (the last time I logged in), but it's just not working anymore.

Any ideas? Any help? Please!

Sound issues when game is running

Hello there! I am having audio issues when playing LOTRO.

I can hear everything just fine, the only time I don't hear sound is if I purposefully turn down the volume. My issue is that when I'm playing, the sounds that LOTRO is making will come through my headphones just fine, but if I try to play anything else, like a Youtube video or play some music on VLC, or even system sounds, those sounds will only come out through my laptop's speakers. Is there some setting somewhere I'm supposed to change, or what? I've already checked the audio options in the game, and I do have two options: "Generic Software on Speakers and Headphone" and "Generic Software on Communications Headphones". The first option makes everything play through my speakers, even LOTRO, and the second option (the one I currently use) makes everything but LOTRO play through the speakers.

For reference, I use these headphones: http://us.store.creative.com/Creativ...B002DS4HTM.htm

I'm also running Windows 7 64-bit.

Exit doesn't work, just hangs the game

Running in Windows 7 64-bit.

Since update 10 or so LOTRO never exits gracefully to the desktop, it always has to be terminated from the process list.
